Jenkins Sails has been involved with Chesapeake Bay Sailing Log Canoes for over 20 years and is now the primary Sailmaker for this unique class. With over 20 canoes in the fleet each is different, with the oldest canoes being built in the mid 19th century and the newest being launched in the last several years. Despite the age differences, one of the oldest canoes Island Blossom has been the boat to beat. Jenkins Sails has married the traditional rig requiring woven sails with radial designs built with the latest fabrics from Challenge Sail Cloth and Dimension Polyant Sailcloth to make light and fast sails that can withstand the wear and tear from the occasional capsize.
